We've talked about this idea for a while here at Indigo, and now we're acting on it. It's 2012 after all.
We love Google and their Goliath search engine and deep-thought algorithms but honestly, those ads on Google are so tough to figure out. How many ads to buy? at what price and placement? how many clicks? and how many key-words? The fact that Google has $43,000,000,000 (billions and billions) in cash reserves is very telling, I think. They like to make a lot of money off fellows like us.
Here is our move to be slightly less captive: we'd like to engage you and your friends directly to talk about and think about the print.
To that end, a humble contest. Each week, a framed print will go to one of our followers on Facebook. Please share the word with your friends.
This week, it's about bedtime. What's your child's favorite bed-time story? Can you quote from that story in a night sky print?
We're looking for sweet, funny, wise (or otherwise) quotes that could work on A Child's First Starry Night print.
Here are some recent examples that our customers have used:
I love you like the moon at night, big and round and warm and bright!
When we wished upon a star we wished for you!
I see the moon, the moon sees me, God bless the moon, and God bless me!
Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.
A star leaves Heaven and touched down on Earth.
And now… let the wild rumpus start!!
On the night that God took you out of his pocket!
May the stars that watched you then bless you always.
For Dylan – Wednesday's Child is full of Whoa!!!
I see quotes from Maurice Sendak, Dr. Seuss, Margaret Wise, Pinocchio, Jon Buller & Susan Schade. And some originals. What's your favorite quote that could work with the night sky print? Send us a note at this address: email@example.com (or comment directly at the end of this blog article) by the end of day Thursday, January 12, with your suggestion. We'll choose a winner and present the rendered example the following week, with details on the next contest.
Thanks, can't wait to hear from you. Enjoy!
